ok so for me, this is confusing becuase of the shapes and stuff but wait, translate into equaotn x+x+x=x+1+1+1+0.5 add like terms 3x=x+3+0.5 3x+x=3.5 remember we can do anytihing to an equiaotn as long as we do ti to both isdes try to get x's on one side only
3x=x+3.5 minus x from both isdes 3x-1x=x-x+3.5 2x=0+3.5 2x=3.5 divide both sides by 2 2x/2=3.5/2 2/2x=1.75 1x=1.75 x=1.75
ok so look for the 1.75 on the line it should be between 1 and 2, closer to 2 than 1
