1. have your number line. number it from left to right 1, 2 , 3 , 4, 5 and so on. Then put a circle over 3 that is filled in because this sign means that x can be equal to 3. A not filled in circle means that x cannot be equal to 3. Then think. Is the sign menaing that x is less than or greater than 3. If it is greater than draw a squiggly line to the right.
