A drawing of a basement uses the same scale as the example above which is 1 inch to 10 ft. The basement is 28ft wide and 35 ft long. how wide and long is the drawing? show your work
Converting 28ft and 35ft into inches
For 28ft:
If 1inch = 10ft
x inch = 28ft
cross multiply
10x = 28
x = 28/10
x = 2.8inches
For 35ft;
If 1inch = 10ft
x inch = 35ft
cross multiply
10x = 35
x = 35/10
x = 3.5inches
Hence the basement is 2.8 in long and 3.5 in wide
