Which set of ordered pairs represents a function, and how does it represent that function?

A. {(2, –2), (1, 5), (–2, 2), (1, –3), (8, –1)}
B. {(3, –1), (7, 1), (–6, –1), (9, 1), (2, –1)}
C. {(6, 8), (5, 2), (–2, –5), (1, –3), (–2, 9)}
D. {(–3, 1), (6, 3), (–3, 2), (–3, –3), (1, –1)}

Respuesta :

B is the only one thats a function because it has one X for every Y while the other options have multiple X's for one Y. That does not pass the vertical line test and therfore not a function.
